SARAH CHULDENKO

Artists Statement   Press Release

Sarah Chuldenko is a painter who’s complex works depict various oddities including nests, vegetables, and larvae mixed in with female anatomy rising out of a blackened mist. Her cascading Neogrotesque style brings to mind the ongoing phycological debate of Nature vs Nurture and it’s hard to tell if her morphing organic forms are consuming one another or coexisting. Her painting technique is similar in style to artist Christian Rex van Minnen, whose still-life portraits are executed in a similar way and that seamlessly intertwine various strange fruits with human anatomy. Chuldenko received an MFA in art at the New York Academy of Art in 2005.
