Luis “NOA” Rodríguez was born June 14, 1970 in the remote village of Baracoa, Guantánamo, Cuba. A serious student as a child, he left home at the age of 14 to attend the National Art School in Havana from which he graduated in 1989. Using irony and humor through his creation of comic characters and symbols, NOA depicts the lives of nosy neighbors and curious strangers amid the busy everyday life in Central Havana. His works cover a range of different techniques and media such as oil on canvas, watercolor, drawing and sculpture.  NOA lives and works in Havana and is a member of the Association of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) and of the Cuban Prográfica Committee. He is a 1994 graduate of the Higher Institute of Industrial Design. NOA has exhibited his work in many solo and group exhibitions, both nationally and internationally. His comic characters and illustrations have been published in Cuban and foreign magazines for many years.
